Bookish Naughty List Tag

Thursday, 14 December 2017

Bit of a reshuffle in my schedule because I wanted to get this tag up since I did my YA naughty and nice lists a couple of days ago. Subtle hint to check those out too... This is a tag by Jenn, so go check out her post if you want some more inspiration.

I was tagged in this book tag by Liam, makes sure you go check out his post and his blog too. Liam is new to the blogging game so show some love <3 Now onto the questions!

Received an ARC and not reviewed it
I always try to read and review the few ARCs I get sent, but once or twice I've taken a chance on a book I knew wasn't exactly my thing because everyone always posts about getting ARCs and I feel like a failed blogger because I don't get them - silly I know but that's how our minds work sometimes. So yeah, then I didn't review the book I knew I wouldn't like... Oops.

Have less than 60% feedback rating on Netgalley
Nope! I don't use NetGalley much and only request books that I really want to read, didn't get offered an ARC for etc. My feedback is 100% for probably around 30 books.

Rated a book on Goodreads and promised a full review was to come on your blog (and never did)
I haven't done this one, I mostly just mark things as read and then forget to do the review... Again, oops.

Folded down the page of a book
Seven hells... No way. I am not a monster.

Accidentially spilled on a book
I would sacrifice myself before spilling on my book. Unless it's hot tea, I might not willingly scald myself for a book but cold liquids are fine.

DNF a book this year
Yes. And it was one of those ARCs I commented about earlier. I hate not finishing a book because it might get good at the end but I usually end up rereading something good instead to cleanse my pallet.

Bought a book purely because it was pretty with no intention of reading it
I buy pretty editions of books I already own with every intention of reading it but then I don't, does that count? I always reach for the same editions of Harry Potter despite owning new pretty ones.

Read whilst you were meant to be doing something else (like homework)
Earlier this year, yes. Now that I'm finished university and have a job, all my free time is my time so I get to read whenever I want. Sometimes I have 'blogging days' and end up reading instead of reviewing but that's just me setting myself unrealistic goals.

Skim read a book
If a book gets boring I do sometimes skim read a chapters dialogue, and if it hasn't picked up by the end of that chapter then I don't bother finishing it. Usually this encourages me to keep reading though.

Completely missed your Goodreads goal
This is my first year setting a goals and I smashed it months ago so I'm good on this one!

Borrowed a book and not returned it
I used to borrow from libraries but most of the time I buy the book myself, I don't tend to borrow from a fellow bookworm because I know the unique anxiety of not getting a book back.

Broke a book buying ban
After I finished university and realised I was getting no more student loan, I put myself on a book buying ban for a couple of months but it definitely didn't work.

Started a review, left it for ages then forgot what the book was about
I wouldn't say I've forgotten what a book was about, I have forgotten what I specifically liked about a book but then I just go on Goodreads and jog my memory with other peoples reviews. Once I did forget about a character and read someone else's review and was so mad I didn't write a paragraph about them in my review.

Wrote in a book you were reading
I did this back in school for coursework but never in a 'reading for fun' book. I'd use sticky book marks to highlight things now.

Finished a book and not added it to your Goodreads
I always add them so my reading goal goes up, it's like a compulsion now.

So with a few technicalities thrown in there, I'm counting around 6/15, I think I'm probably safe and Santa can safely bring me books this year.

I'm not tagging anyone in particular because I know a lot of you are doing Blogmas but if you do want to do this tag, let me know in the comments and I'll share your posts on Twitter!

Thanks for reading!
